Email capture forms
Email capture forms, also called email collection forms, send an address to one workspace. Hosted, embedded, modal, in-app, and offline/QR use a form; API capture and CSV import are separate intake paths.
What is an email capture form?
An email capture form is a signup field on a website, hosted page, or app screen that sends an address to one list after the person confirms by email.
Gather Sprout supports hosted pages, inline embeds, modals, in-app prompts, QR/offline links, API intake, and CSV import. Six form-based paths can record page, offer, and consent context; CSV import records a consent basis instead of page provenance.

Where the difference shows
A hosted form records its page, form offer, and consent notice. An embed automatically sends its page and referrer, while an API capture records the supported context your server chooses to send. A CSV import has no page context; a consent basis is required when importing as subscribed and is recorded when a new or pending contact becomes subscribed. Nothing is invented to fill the gap.
